Recognized for her dynamic, unbridled playing and delicate interpretation, pianist Chang Jin-young graduated with honors from Sunhwa Arts Middle and High School and received a scholarship to Ewha Womans University. She then continued her studies in Germany, graduating from the Cologne University of Music and the Detmold University of Music with the highest degrees, Diplom and Konzertexamen. Having studied under Jang Wan-gyu, Son Jung-ae, Kim Mi-kyung, Kwon Mari, Ham Young-rim, Nina Tichman, and Anatol Ugorski, she was recognized for her talent from an early age, winning prizes at various competitions, including the Hankook Ilbo Competition and the Padova International Competition in Italy. She appeared in the debut concert for outstanding new performers organized by Music Journal, performed in the fall concert and concerto of Ewha Womans University’s College of Music, and played Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Ewha Womans University Orchestra.
